Heavy Load?

My sweet husband sent this to me this morning. I thought maybe some of you would be encouraged by it too:

The load will be too heavy for us!

(Letters of John Newton)

I compare the troubles which we have to undergo in the course of the year–to a great bundle of sticks, far too large for us to lift. But God does not require us to carry the whole bundle at once. He mercifully unties the bundle, and gives us first one stick, which we are to carry today; and then another, which we are to carry tomorrow, and so forth.

We can easily manage our troubles, if we would only carry the trouble appointed for each day. But the load will be too heavy for us–if we carry yesterday’s burden over again today, and then add the burden of tomorrow to the weight, before we are required to bear it.

Good Read

It seems I read the signature to my own email always at the right time.  This morning was especially sweet and perfect timing for me to read the words of Spurgeon again:

“O let my trembling soul be still and wait Thy wise, Thy Holy will!  I cannot, Lord, Thy purpose see, yet all is well since ruled by Thee.”

No news…

on the house, but here is some great news:

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8

And in Him is where our hope lies, not in a house selling. Thank you for praying and please continue.

1:30-2:30 Wednesday

Be praying that this would be the buyer. It will be only the third time the house has shown. God could do something miraculous and what seems crazy to us and meet our deadline (June 26). Thank you for joining us in praying.

But as for me,

I will watch expectantly for the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation.  My God will hear me.

Micah 7:7

Advance 09

Please pray as I continue to grow in Christ with my brothers Jim and Brandon.  We will be attending a conference (Advance 09) on the topic of the resurgence of the local church.

May God grow us according to the riches of these verses: Ephesians 1:22-23

And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church,

which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Lord build Your body on Christ who fills all in all in Memphis TN, and among the Nations in Eastern Europe!

The stars at night…

…are BIG and BRIGHT

deep in the heart of TEXAS!

You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take the Texas out of the girl! Along with lots of cousins and aunts and uncles and grandparents and hours in the car, the next few days are full of adventure for the Bensons. Oh to breathe the fresh, ahhhhhh, Texas air and see real live trees! Tall ones that actually shade your yard. Not to mention cows, sweet tea, and if we are lucky, some good ‘ol Tex Mex.  Our days will be filled with playing with cousins till we drop and lots of cuddles, while Daddy is away with the guys at a conference. More on our adventures to come later. Pray we would commend Christ in all our words and actions.  See you in a few days.

Sleepy Mondays::

These kids are taking loooong naps after a loooong Sunday!

This is what you look like when you are almost 2, want your pictures taken with your doll, Terri Candis, and are saying "cheese" through gritted teeth!

Please continue…

…to pray that our house will sell. We are thankful that we can rest in Jesus, who was the same yesterday, is the same today, and will be the same forever.  No matter our circumstances, this is where we land:

Holy God in love became

Perfect Man to bear my blame

On the cross he took my sin

By His death I live again.
